Croisière ski de randonnée dans les Alpes de LYNGEN

A week of extraordinary ski touring, between sea and mountains in the Lyngen Alps, a region of deep fjords above the Arctic Circle where the mountains plunge into the sea. A veritable roving refuge, the boat will take you to the start of a different race each day, to remote, grandiose places where you will make your mark in virgin snow. You will be accompanied in the mountains by French mountain guides.

The Lyngen Alps

The Lyngen Alps are an absolutely extraordinary massif in the Scandinavian Alps. They offer a frozen landscape bathed in extraordinary light, with peaks dominating the fjords and plunging into the sea, vast valleys of immaculate snow, glaciers and immense icefalls. A fabulous playground for skiers in search of unique runs, the highest point, Jiekkevarre, only reaches an altitude of 1,833 metres, but the difference in altitude is considerable as the Lyngen Alps plunge into the sea and the hikes start from the coast.

Course of the trip

Our playground is the Lyngen Alps. We can offer you many different itineraries to suit all levels of skier: loops, circuits, crossings of islands and peninsulas. The great advantage of the boat is that skiers can be picked up at any point, so there's no need to go back down the ascent route. There are still many promising areas that have yet to be explored on skis, and we're always up for a go! Our boat is fast and has a great range.
The daily vertical drops vary according to the route, from 700m to 1800m for Jekevari, the highest point in the range. These vertical drops are of course counted from the beach, where you put on your skis! The atmosphere is very alpine and the snow is usually of excellent quality because it's so cold. Races generally last no more than 4 or 5 hours.

Our sailing takes place in the sheltered waters of the fjords, on calm seas, and the daily sailing time from the finish of one race to the start of the next is usually less than 3 hours. Sailing through the fjords is a great way to discover the beauty of the landscape, and we'll be stopping overnight alongside small wooden quays in typical little villages where you can wander around at your leisure. Occasionally, we'll anchor in beautiful wild bays where you can admire the Northern Lights and where fishing enthusiasts can catch haddock and cod.

You arrive at Tromsø airport on Saturday afternoon and board the boat immediately. After visiting the ship and depositing your luggage in your cabins, you can use the rest of the afternoon to explore the town. We'll spend the first night docked in Tromsø and set sail early on Sunday morning to be ski-in, ski-out at the start of the first race 3 hours later.

There is no 'rigid' programme, just a wide range of possible routes, and every evening the skipper and guide discuss which route to choose for the following day, depending on what you want to do first and foremost, but also on the level of the group, the state of the snow and the weather forecast. When you return from the trip in the afternoon, we'll welcome you on board with a hot meal and a welcome hot shower. We then set off for the starting point of the next day's race, and you can enjoy the late afternoon strolling ashore, or relaxing on board, fishing, taking photos...
